Shelly Hutchinson is a wife mother and business owner who has lived in Georgia House District 107 for over 20 years.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Shelly moved to Georgia after finishing her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. She immediately began working for Fulton County DFCS where her career in social services and child welfare began.
In 2000, Shelly Graduated from UGA with a Masters Degree in Social Work. She and her husband also welcomed their first child into the family. In 2002, Shelly founded The Social Empowerment Center, a mental health and social services outreach and treatment center in Lawrenceville.
Shelly is the chairperson of the Local Interagency Planning Team for the Department of Behavioral Health and the Children In Need of Services Committee for the Department of Juvenile Justice. These committees enable think tanks for local leaders to access unconventional services for children in need of behavioral health services.
Shelly and her family continue to call Gwinnett County home and found their faith community at St Lawrence's Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. Their children continue their education in Gwinnett County public schools and play rec league sports in Gwinnett's Parks.
