Liuba was born and raised on Long Island, where she is raising her one-year old son and three-year old daughter. Liuba was raised by a single mother who worked her entire life teaching in public school, and is the granddaughter of immigrants who came to this country as political refugees.

Liuba spent her career as a global development advisor, empowering working families and women both domestically and abroad. She has forged relationships between nonprofits, government, and businesses to tackle issues including economic development, access to health care, paid family leave, and government transparency.

Liuba has worked for the United Nations Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, EastWest Institute, Vital Voices, and New York University. She has also led delegations to Capitol Hill to lobby for strong American leadership at the UN.
