Campaign Leadership Track @ The Arena Phoenix
On December 8th and 9th, The Arena will be offering a training track for campaign leadership looking to level up their skills in strategy, new media storytelling, management, and data. This training will not be comprehensive, but rather, will focus on discreet needs that we have observed in our interactions with campaign leadership teams. We highly recommend this track for first-time campaign managers and people stepping into leadership roles on campaigns, but invite all interested parties to apply.

8:15AM - BUILDING A WINNING CAMPAIGN IN 2018 Luis Avila, CEO of Iconico Kate Catherall, The Arena
Kate and Luis will lead a discussion on developing a strategic campaign plan that meets people where they are, empowers supporters, and inspires voters in the 2018 landscape. This session will explore lessons learned in 2016 and 2017 elections, as well as do’s and don’ts for building a holistic, human-centered campaign.

Matt, Director of Randy Bryce’s viral campaign launch video, will share his approach to emotionally resonant storytelling, and best practices for using video and new media to move people.
11:00AM - MANAGING FOR PERFORMANCE - PT I Ashley Pinedo-Carlson, Vice President at The Management Center
An Arizona native and seasoned campaign vet, Ashley Pinedo will lead a workshop on best practices for developing and managing a high-performing team in a fast-paced setting. Topics to be covered include goal-setting, delegation, and feedback.

Santiago will lead a session on how to build data infrastructure for a successful campaign. This session will explore which metrics to focus on, how to use data and analytics to inform decision-making, best practices for measuring progress toward goal, and implementing systems for reporting and accountability.
